Background of the Project

This housing project is located at Keranigonj across the Burigonga River. The Project area comprises of 381.11 acres of land.There will be about 1740 residential plots and 9,500 apartments for lower and middle income groups with available necessary infrastructure and urban services. 

Objective of the Project
  • To reduce the acute problem of Housing
  • To reduce the pressure of population in Dhaka city by creating opportunity of residence for the city dwellers in the close by extended area.
  • To expand civic facilities by urbanization of the area between Dhaka and Keranigonj gradually.
  • To maintain the balance of environment by proper urbanization.
Location of the project
The project is situated at a distance of 2 (two) KM west of China-Banglades friendship bridge over the Burigonga river beside the Dhaka-Mawa Road at keranigonj upzila, District-Dhaka. 
Land Development
Land Development has been completed 
Construction of Road
The road construction work package no-01(Lot no-01 to 05) has been completed 55% and package no-02 (Lot no-01 to 8) has been completed 35%. Rest of the work is on going . 
Construction of Pipe Culvert
To connect the project area with Dhaka-Mawa road two nos of Pipe Culvert & approach road is scheduled for conctruction. Under this package one of the two has already been started and stipulated to be completed by June-2013. Physical implementation of the 2nd one has been commenced & it is also scheduled to be completed by June-2013. 
Construction of Bridges
Revised drawing and design is under preparation by the consultant. The consultant will submit the revised drawing and design very soon and then the tendering process will be started. 
Plot information
Around 1740 nos of residential plots may be provided to the allottees 
Utility services
Three numbers of electric lines are existing in the project area. These lines will be shifted by REB according to revised Lay-out plan. Line shifting work process is on going. The project office is maintaing proper co-ordination with other utility services orginations. 
High rise apartment project
For the high rise apartment project the 49.50 acres of land is ear-marked. Three catagory apartment buildings will be constructed. These apartment building will be constructed in three phases. For this purpose 1st phase DPP has been already send to the Ministry of Housing & Public Works for approval.
